Vision
Our main mission is to bring the boatyard into the 21st century. With our new Marine Innovation Centre being the heart of our operations, we wanted to ensure that everything here is fully up to date and filled with technology to help not only our business but other companies thrive. This space will be open to businesses that need a new hub with a great location, allowing the wider community to be a part of Eyemouth Marine.
As an ever growing business, we are continually investing in our staff in order for them to be able to handle any project that comes to Eyemouth Marine. We want to ensure that the skills needed to keep the marine sector thriving are not lost so we are continually developing our team through courses and trainings, as well as recruiting the next generation of engineers, boat builders and many more roles.
We have also endeavoured to improve our workshop facilities, machinery, and tools to allow us to work as efficiently as possible. This means we can get any job done to the highest quality and with speed to get you back out on the water.
Our current actions continue to reinforce the company’s commitment to the future through skills development, innovation and ongoing investment in our facilities and our people. We want our customers to be part of our future here in Eyemouth.
Eco Policy
We take great pride in ensuring the work we do here at the yard is sustainable and environmentally friendly. We do this by using measures we have put in place:
Pollution Prevention System (PPS)
This state of the art technology filters any material such as antifoul paint which is removed from boats when we are pressure washing and cleaning them and converts it into drinkable water. Any chemicals or residue are collected in the waste storage tanks and disposed of appropriately.
Eco-friendly Products
We strive to use eco-friendly products when working on vessels. XCP is a prime example of some of the things we used to minimise our impact on the local environment.
New Marine Innovation Centre
Our new offices have been designed to be as energy efficient as possible. We have solar panels on our roof, as well as battery storage for energy we don't use, so nothing is left to waste. For colder periods our air source heating provides all the comfort anyone needs to work.
Marine Management System
As a 21st century business we needed a system to allow us to manage everything that happens at Eyemouth Marine, there were a few systems on the market however these were not suitable for our needs.
We have designed an ERP system called the ‘Marine Management System’ that has allowed us to take our business to the next level. This allows us to schedule our slipways, yard, and mobile service van, create estimates and job specifications, as well as generate and monitor timesheets and holidays for the staff. There is so much more to this software and it is constantly being modified and upgraded. In the future it will be available for purchase to help other businesses run as efficiently as possible.
