Despite the blistering Eyemouth heat, 12 local children came along to a fun-packed, paint and glue fueled craft session at Splash to create and decorate sea-creatures to adorn the Eyemouth Marine Drawbridge for the 74th Eyemouth Herring Queen Festival in an ‘under the sea theme’. There are lots of Octopus, Jellyfish, Starfish and Mermaids ready to be put up on Friday so they will have the best chance of looking fresh and pretty for the crowning ceremony.
Herring Queen elect, Isla Purvis took time out of her busy schedule to come along and help out. Isla will be crowned as the 74th Eyemouth Herring Queen at 4pm on Saturday 28th July 2018. She will arrive into Eyemouth Harbour onboard the Eyemouth Lifeboat “Barclaycard Crusader” with Coxswain Andrew Jamieson and his crew, accompanied by her maids, Layla Crowe, Katie Sheils, Ellie-Mae Turnbull and Leokie Barnett
We wish Isla and her maids the very best of luck on Saturday
